Who?

July 30, 2023

Who saves? Who foreordains? Who intercedes? Who called? Who justifies? Who glorifies? Who is for us? Who loves? Who among us knows just exactly how much we can do for ourselves and is not impressed with the glorious gift of His grace that covers all our sin? David said it very well, “Blessed is the man to whom God does not impute sin.” If our God commands that we do not keep track of wrong, who would suppose that He would keep account of evil especially when His son is our meditator (1 Timothy 2:5)? Having done all these things for us should impress us to the extent that we grieve over our sins, desire not to engage in sin, and pray for our release from “this body of death.” So, we serve the Lord with our mind and our spirit and are hindered by our fleshly body from accomplishing “the good that I would.” We wait for the day when we would be finally free, free indeed from our flesh which knows sin but spirit and mind desire godliness. The war is raging and this very war is proof that we are alive in Christ, that Satan has not yet overcome, that with Him we can become “more than conquerors.” Because Christ Jesus is claimed by us as our Lord (Romans 8:27-29) and we are willing, even excited, that He wants to transform us into His image. He is our transformer and not we ourselves! Staying in the vine (John 15) is our lot, but how? Do we or does He make intersession? I pray for me, but He prays to the Father for me which keeps me growing. His prayer is more frequent and far more persuasive than my own. Give Him the glory! Amen! We can not take any credit for our calling or His choosing. The love of God is our salvation. Thank God, for he justifies those who would follow faithfully. Even when the world condemns, He does not. (John 3:17) Who condemns? It is Christ who died for the condemned, yeah rather He is risen at the right hand of God, who maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:35). If I did not sin and continue to sin, there would be no need for intercession. Jesus interceded because of my sin and continues to intercede because of my sinful, fleshly nature. He was and is my advocate (1 Timothy 2:5) He is my confidence builder. Yes, Lord!
